THIS IS A VERY LONG ENTRY, BUT IF YOU READ IT YOU WILL GAIN PRICELESS KNOWLEDGE.

Ok, so heres gonna be a real entry like im actually gonna say waht happened today. so get ready, brace yourself, do whatever you need to do to get ready. And plus, I have to make this extra long because it has to be longer than dannielles. Ok so today was oliver-dannielle time and so at 12 i meet her up at town center nad we decide to go eat. after much deliberation and consideration and thought we decide to go to taco's san pedro, but then when we're in line, she tells me that she doesnt like spicy food. so yah.....that was kinda a waste of time. so i bust a bitch and we go to the loft and actually eat..like food and stuff and we talk for like a good 45 minutes and its all tasty and tender. Afterwards, we go to target to look for what else but ....crates. I mean why else would you go to a target? so at target the 2 greatest things happen. As i turn into the parking lot, dannielle says.."look, its sam and joe!" so i look expecting to see smoon and joe park. I literally stop my car and theres this guy waiting to turn so yah. it turns out to be samantha and the other joe, not a bad consolation prize. So we walk into target and as we enter, she says" ollie, i need a ...." note the dots because she never finished her sentence. At this point, the reader may be wondering why she was not able to finish. It is because we saw a spectacle so awe-inspiring that a sentence as important as such was not able to be finished. Right in front of us, an asian mother slaps her teenage daughter. It wasnt a friendly slap, it was a "bitch i hate you" slap. and thus the sentence was left unfinished as we marveled at the spectacle we had just witnessed. As we contintued on our quest for the holy crate, we realized that target was NOT the place to be, and we proceeded to leave for office max. On the way there, I find out the biggest shock of my life, that being that katrina does NOT love me! In my state of depression, we enter office max. Danielle approaches a man to ask him about crates. However, before she is given the chance, the man yawns and starts rubbing his chest. We thought " Is this a man that would know where we can find crates" as soon as we both agreed not, we asked a lady. Turns out that crates are 4.99 and that dannielle cant reach the ones on the top shelf, which was where the nice green ones were. So we leave out quest for the holy crate empty and disheartened. We decide that since she had to leave in 20 minutes for school to just sit at TC again and just talk. During our insightful conversation, she interjects with..." WHAT IF I DIDNT GO TO SCHOOL?" She calls Shaan Sharma for approval and fortunately gets it. We decide that the best thing would be to meet up at my house with shakti and shaan and go from there. However, she decides to return to her abode to retrieve her laptop. In fear of her mother, she chooses to meet me at friendship park. It took me a long time to find that park. So anyways, we decide to drop her car of at the library and at the library we see hala, who is a great person in her own right. We head over to my house. I have to set up her internet connection for her so that she can email mr varieur her homework ( varieur teaches the class she ditched at biola) and so that she can tell him that "something came up". a great excuse from a great person. Well were just chillen until shakti and shaan show up and we kinda try to decide what we wanna do. I end up schooling the little elf in pool and then watching the three tickle each other. I also drank some arizona green tea. So we just chill for like an hour and then everyone leaves, goes home, does whatever. So that was the end to oliver dannielle time part one. Watch out for part 2 where we go to knotts, frys, and a movie. Coming soon (before sept 25) to a theatre near you.

Time for an update

Saturday, August 13, 2005

The Minnesota Vikings revamped defense looked as good in their first action of the 2005 Preseason outing allowing just three field goals and a late touchdown to the Kansas City Chiefs. Quarterbacks Daunte Culpepper and Brad Johnson looked really sharp under center and lead the offense to a 27-16 win.

Running back Mewelde Moore opened the preseason for the Vikings as he took the opening kickoff 22 yards to set up the first Minnesota score. Wide receiver Nate Burleson took a pass from quarterback Daunte Culpepper, changed directions and went 33 yards for the touchdown. Culpepper rolled away from a sack in the pocket and found Burleson over the middle. The Vikings moved 65 yards in 3:08. Kicker Aaron Elling connected on the point after to give Minnesota the early 7-0 lead.

On the Chiefs' first possession of the game, the Vikings' defense shut down the Chiefs and forced a punt in just five plays. Kansas City picked up two big gains on their first two attempts but then ran into the Vikings defensive line, led by defensive tackle Pat Williams. The Chiefs brought rookie punter Dustin Colquitt on to punt. Keenan Howry was back for the Vikings and pulled in the fair catch at the Minnesota 15.

Culpepper and the offense failed to find the same rhythm they enjoyed on their first possession. After picking up one first down, the team stalled at the Minnesota 31 and had to punt. Darren Bennett's punt sailed 29 yards and bounced out of bounds to give Kansas City good field position at their 40.

Kansas City's kicker Lawrence Tynes pulled the Chiefs to within four when he connected on a 19-yard field goal. The Chiefs' duel running back attack of Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson carried the ball down to the Vikings' 1, picking up 44 of the team's 54 yards on the drive. Defensive end Kenechi Udeze made a big play stuffing Johnson on third and one to force the field goal. Kansas City moved 54 yards on nine plays and took 4:11 off the game clock.

Moore returned the ensuing kickoff 43 yards and was tackled by his face mask to tack on an additional 15 yards. Quarterback Brad Johnson led the offense on the field with solid field position. The Chiefs defense didn't give an inch forcing Johnson into two incomplete passes and allowing only a few yards to running back Moe Williams. Minnesota called punter Travis Dorsch on the field and he dropped his kick inside the Chiefs 10. The punt was downed at the eight yardline by Vikings' cornerback Dovonte Edwards.

The Chiefs put together a 14-play drive that took them down to the Minnesota 20. The drive moved well through the air, on the ground and was aided by two pass interference penalties. After stalling at the 20 the Chiefs again looked to Tynes to pull within one. His kick sailed wide right and Minnesota held on to the four-point lead.

Moore had another big play when he ripped off a 50-yard run that took the Vikings inside the Chiefs 20. Moore started right then broke left off tackle and he was off. Kansas City's Greg Wesley stopped Moore at Kansas City's 13. Moore wouldn't be denied his touchdown. Five plays later, Moore hooked up with Brad Johnson for a seven-yard touchdown reception. Kicker Paul Edinger hit the PAT and pushed the Vikings lead to 14-3. Minnesota's drive went 72 yards in eight plays and took 4:25 off the clock. Moore accounted for 66 yards on the drive.

A big pay for Minnesota's defense came when Ted Cottrell made a perfect call and blitzed safety Willie Offord on second and 10. Offord dropped running back Dee Brown for a loss of five. The Chiefs came up two yards short on third and 15 when quarterback Damon Huard connected with Marc Boerigter for a gain of 13. Colquitt was brought on and punted the ball to Howry at the Vikings 21.

Elling drilled a 40-yard field goal to push the Vikings lead to 17-3. The Vikings went 57 yards on seven plays. The bulk of their yards came on two plays. On first and 10 from the Minnesota 21, Brad Johnson found wide receiver Ryan Hoag for a gain of 19. Two plays later rookie running back Ciatrick Fason, Minnesota's 4th round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, picked up 25 yards on the ground rumbling to the Kansas City 27. The Vikings managed five more yards then were forced to call Elling on to kick the field goal.

Vikings' cornerback Ralph Brown made a great interception to stop the Chiefs from scoring before the half. Brown jumped in front of Kansas City's tight end Kris Wilson, tipped the ball up in the air and dove to make the catch. Wilson touched Brown down at the Minnesota 31.

Edinger hit a 48-yard field goal with one second remaining in the first half to give the Vikings a 20-3 lead going into the lookerroom. Following Brown's interception Minnesota moved quickly down field covering 35 yards in five plays. Brad Johnson connected on four straight passes to get the Vikings in field goal range. Johnson's passes found three different receivers, Howry, Hoag and tight end Jeff Dugan.

The Chiefs opened the second half with a 30-yard field goal by Tynes. Kansas City picked up 68 yards on 12 plays. Running Back Dee Brown had four carries for 21 yards to lead the Chiefs into Vikings territory and get Tynes the field goal. With 9:44 remaining in the third quarter, the Vikings had a 14-point lead over Kansas City at 20-6.

Kansas City's safety William Bartee recorded the Chiefs first takeaway of the game when he jumped a Howry pass route and intercepted quarterback Shaun Hill's pass. Bartee returned the football 13 yards to the Minnesota 37.

Tynes capitalized on Bartee's interception when he split the uprights from 51 yards out. The Vikings defense put up a nice stand allowing only four yards on seven plays. Minnesota's defense forced the long field goal and the Chiefs took advantage and cut the Vikings lead to 11.

Minnesota scored their first points of the second half with 6:37 remaining in the fourth quarter. Fason smashed into the endzone from one-yard out for the score. Elling hit the PAT and the Vikings lead was then 27-9. Minnesota put together a solid drive that went 77 yards on 15 plays and took 8:11 off the game clock. Fason and fellow running backs Butchie Wallace and Adimchinobe Echemandu combined for 49 rushing yards on the drive.

The Chiefs tacked on a late touchdown when quarterback James Kilian scrambled around the left end and dove into the endzone. With 33 seconds left the Chiefs pulled the score to within 11 but couldn't manage anymore points. The Vikings ran out the clock following the kickoff and sealed their first preseason win of 2005 27-16.
